Blues Tuesday at Whighams Jazz Club – with Dougie Stronge

February’s Blues Tuesday Jam Night at WJC features Dunfermline’s own Dougie Stronge. Dougie began his career as a singer in the mid 1960s with Fife band The Soul Generation (featuring one Bill Kyle on drums!) before fronting The Change, resident band at Dunfermline’s Kinema Ballroom, supporting the headline acts of the day. A move to London in the late 1980s saw him gigging extensively in London, Brighton and along the South Coast.

Equally comfortable singing Blues, Soul, Funk, or Jazz, Dougie’s powerful voice and expressive interpretation of a wide range of material will be supported tonight by the regular Blues Tuesday house band comprising Sandy Tweeddale (g,v), Mike Kearney (keys), Rod Kennard (bass) and Willie Molleson (drums)….and an ever changing cast of singers and instrumentalists joining in the Jamming. It could be you!

Proceedings kick off at 8.30 pm – but get down early, bag a table, and tuck into Whighams moderately priced Tapas to share before the show! We look forward to seeing you there.
